Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California
In a time when California's reproductive laws were being attacked by initiatives like Proposition 73 (2005), Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California (PPAC) hired Hope Road to create an ethnic media strategy to bring awareness on the importance of family communication. Hope Road developed culturally sensitive messages for the Latino and Asian American community, trained community leaders to become spokespeople, and organized press conferences. The print and television media coverage helped broaden the base of statewide community support for Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California on the issue of reproductive freedom and access to women's health care. The family communication public engagement campaign laid the groundwork for PPAC in the campaign to defeat Proposition 73. |
